About Me: As a professional dancer, I saw first hand the impact that arts can have on children and family life, and Urban Crusing was born to connect arts to everyday life and enrich it. At Urban Cruising, we believe that connections through arts comes not only through museums, concerts and exhibits (although we constantly seek out new and promising artists of all genres and places where their works are showcased), but arts can easily become a part of parenting life through simple things like interesting activities and even uniquely designed baby related items, like... chairs (for example Stokke's Tripp Trapp apart from many awards had a well deserved place on the exhibit in MoMA - did you know that?), Bugaboo seeks out artists to collaborate on designs for the stroller fabric, making it be quite literally a usable art, and so on. But unique design is not the only thing we are looking for when searching for "new and interesting" baby products: high quality standards and a meaningful mission behind the company's profile are other big factors too. Among the over-saturated baby product market, we feel that it is important to highlight those that would make a difference not only in customers' lives, but also have an impact on the surrounding world - we live in it after all. Did you know, for example, that Joolz - a European stroller company, apart from designing cool looking customizable strollers, will also plant a tree for every stroller purchased, and you can track that tree's growth through their site. These are the companies that we feel everyone needs to know about.
Hire Me For/I'm Good At: Creative arts, photography, and unique advertising. See www.urbancrusingmedia.com for more information.
Interested In: Collaborations/sponsorships, but my creative mind never rests - throw the ideas at me, and I am sure we can make something usually beneficial and interesting out of it.
Mama Likes: Dance is and will always be a huge part of my life. Even when done with stage performances (which after 20+ years, my body is starting to let me know that it is tired), a daily or almost daily class is a must for me. I am also fascinated by different cultures, and love to dig deep and discover traditions, ways of living, foods, and all things related to that. Getting lost in an authentic neighborhood of SF for a day and just observing life is one of my favorite things to do.
Mama Inspiration: From the big and significant figures: Darcy Brussell - a professional ballet dancer, a mother of four, 34 when pregnant again and STILL returned to stage after. Ariane Goldman - a designer behind the Hatch Collection and towards Bridesmaid - an inspiration and proof of a successful entrepreneur, business woman and a wonderful mother, all in one, But the truth is that any loving mother out there is an inspiration to me. I feel like there is always something that I can gain from anyone I meet, be it playground, coffee shop or an exhibit.
Brands that most reflect your style or that you'd want to work with: Stokke stole my heart by unique designs of their iconic Xplory and Tripp Trapp. Bugaboo's latest creations of making art - quite literally - be a part of parents' and babys' lives with their Van Gogh edition for Bugaboo Bee had my heart beating extra fast. Those are the brands that reflect that, which I am looking for in a company, and the analogs - creative and unique - is what we are constantly on a search for.
