Lives In: Las Vegas, NV
About Me: I grew up in Utah. I taught dance while getting my bachelor’s degree for athletic therapy. When my husband was accepted into dental school in Las Vegas, we had a new baby, and I started thinking of ways I’d be able to work from home since we’d be away from family. I started my business Finomenon Kids in 2013. I designed t-shirts and had them printed on blanks and this is when my love for children’s fashion developed. I had dreams of having my own brand manufactured. I worked really hard with Finomenon to save up enough money in order to manufacturing. Then I met Sara here in Vegas. Our dreams aligned so we decided to go for it together! We just released our first collection with our brand, Fin & Vince. It’s a high quality brand inspired by imagination, and it’s all made in the U.S.A. We are very proud of our collection and have some fun things up our sleeves for the future! It’s been such a wild ride, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Hire Me For/I'm Good At: Photography, photo editing, blogging, web design, styling, marketing/social media coaching, and product research/reviews.
Interested In: You learn a lot when you are thrown into the retail world of fashion. I have made a lot of mistakes with manufacturing, but I’m always trying to learn and grow from those mistakes. The ‘teacher’ in me loves to help others learn what I have learned so far. I also have a passion for collaborating with others and learning about new and fun products! I’m a researcher to a fault so I’m always reading up on products and love new finds!
Mama Likes: Any kind of dance (mostly ballet, hip hop, and modern), outdoors and exploring (hiking, swimming and boating), photography, fashion, and interior design.
Brands that most reflect your style or that you’d want to work with:
Words you live by/quotes you love: Being a mom who works at home means schedules are everything but it’s also something that I really struggle with. I’m naturally an easy going person, so I need quotes to motivate me and keep me on track! Some I love: “Only dead fish go with the flow”, “The master has failed more times than the beginner has even tried”, and “Go the extra mile, it’s never crowded.”
Best advice you’ve ever been given: “Do what you do best and hire out the rest.” I’m a tad competitive, so I always think I can figure it out and do it like this person, etc. I’m also a natural control freak, but there comes a point in your business where you just can’t do everything on your own. Best thing I’ve done, which was hard, was having the trust to hire others who specialized in what I needed that way I could focus on things that I’m good at and enjoy.
Best advice you’d give to someone starting out: Be unique! Don’t be afraid to come up with something new and start a new trend. There are a lot of creative people in this world, and there is room for us all, but to stand out, come up with something only you could come up with. Be the best you!
What are three things people would be surprised to know about you? I was adopted at 3 days old. I’m an extreme introvert, and I’m a total foodie that is obsessed with seafood!
