Lives In: Phoenix, Arizona
About Me: I am a mother, filmmaker, photographer, spin Instructor, and life-lover. I’ve always been a storyteller, and I’m in love with documentary-style filmmaking. After my daughter was born, my passion for it escalated. Becoming a mother was (and still is) hands down the most unreal experience of my life, and it has given me a heightened perspective of how incredibly precious moments in life are. Being able to capture these moments for others during their wedding day or special event fills me up with love and confirms how phenomenal my job is. In addition to weddings and events, I also shoot PSA’s for non-profits, brand videos, marketing campaigns, etc. Which is storytelling in another form. I feel so grateful to be surrounded by so many amazing visionaries and mission statements. Being able to tell their story and communicate their message out to the public in a creative, eye-catching way is pretty rad.
Hire Me For/I'm Good At: Video Production and Photography
Interested In: Collaborating! The beauty of the work that I do is that it can be used for almost anything. We live in a media-rich society. There is photo/video for it all. My work exposes me to so much, i’m always eager to hear people’s vision and story and help them tell it through moving images.
Mama Likes: My work is my passion -- I am blessed! I love playing with cameras, flying my drone, exploring new places that make for amazing settings in front of the lens, teaching spin (aka “party on a bike!”). Being a single, working mama, I treasure my “happy hour” in the spin room, because it is just that. I get paid to lead 30-45 awesome souls on a ride to my favorite beats. My students motivate and inspire me more than they know. I also love running in marathons, only in costume, with my best friend, Jenny. I love anything involving my daughter; she is consistent entertainment and fills up my passion tank every day. Traveling and experiencing new cultures are always welcome.
Mama Inspiration: Lyndie Irons, who created the Acacia Swimwear line, is actually the mama that exposed me to HeyMama. I’ve always admired how hardworking she is, and how she handles her life and mama-hood with such grace. Not to mention, she has a lot of fun with her little dude. I love the bond they share. Brooke Burke is another mama that I look up to for her ability to take on a wide variety of roles, stay on top of her fitness, and maintain an awesome relationship with her kids. Sandra Tenuto and Christine Johnson, both single mothers, are two local photographers I work with on weddings occasionally. They both have helped guide me in the early years of motherhood and professional work. Another local gal is Teresa Wilson, who owns Camelback Flowershop. She is a friend, single mother of two, and an awesome entrepreneur.
Brands that most reflect your style or that you’d want to work with: I like any brand that has passion, purpose, and isn’t afraid to go outside of the box and take risks.
Words you live by/quotes you love:
“When you have exhausted all possibilities, remember this: You haven’t” --Thomas Edison.
“Do good and good things will come to you.” “She’s a dreamer. A doer. A thinker. She sees possibility everywhere.”
Best advice you’ve ever been given: One of my mentors told me to never let go of the time allotted to personal projects; projects which allows my mind to get crazy with creativity, and I can't let go of my creativity.
Best advice you’d give to someone starting out: Don’t ever let fear run you. If it scares you, it could possibly be the best idea ahead of you. Go for it, knowing that if you fail, it’s just a part of your future success story.
What are three things people would be surprised to know about you? I have a special needs sister that is just 13 months younger than me. Although she is non-verbal and low-functioning, she has taught me so much about life. I start every morning with 10 minutes of meditation. Having 3 year old can make it challenging at times, but I always find a way. When i’m tired, I do a handstand. It gives you energy, try it.
Where can we find you?
